The business behind the bubbles

Run the salon, not just the grooming table

Build a diary that works, keep essentials in stock and make the choices behind a growing dog grooming business.

A booking is a promise.

Appointment requests bring preferred times, flexibility, service needs and budgets. Find room in the diary around the work involved, available groomers and required equipment. An offer is not automatically a confirmed visit.

As your business develops, booking technology supports new ways for requests to arrive. Returning customers and their next-visit requests help connect one day to another.

Know where the money goes.

Set service prices, order consumables and account for costs such as equipment, maintenance, rent and wages. The finance system records cash movement and business results so an upgrade is a decision rather than a free reward.

Tips are a possible customer outcome, not a guaranteed reward. Retail adds another consideration: suitable display space, stock and the products customers actually want.

A team needs more than a job title.

Hiring unlocks at the Team Salon stage. Staff have shifts, lunch breaks, training and availability constraints that affect appointments. Growing capacity also means planning the people who provide it.

A bigger salon. A broader view.

The current progression framework covers Home, Solo, Team, Premium and Empire stages. Equipment and staff systems are implemented, while later-stage presentation and bespoke interiors remain in development.

Regional property systems support relocation and branching into other towns. Within a town, premises are alternative homes for the same business: there is one active commercial salon per town. Moving closes the old site rather than opening a second local branch.

Oakford is the starting point.

Oakford is the only detailed town so far. The other settlements remain regional overviews. Full dynamic rival expansion is deferred, and the site does not present four completed towns or furnished salon interiors.
